Students Strive for Personal Excellence
Genazzano FCJ College congratulates both Amy Catanzariti and Jacinta Ryan as our College Duces for 2016, attaining ATARs of 99.85. Both Amy and Jacinta joined our community as Year 7 students in 2011, embracing their love of learning.
Amy received outstanding results in English, French, Italian, Mathematical Methods and Chemistry. She completed Biology Units 3 & 4 as a Year 11 student and was awarded the Centorame Award for Academic Excellence.
Jacinta received excellent results in English, French, Latin and Chemistry, having completed both Mathematical Methods and Music Performance (a perfect score) as a Year 11 student, receiving the Sir Murray McInerney Award for Music Performance.
Not only did they dedicate themselves to academic excellence, Amy and Jacinta also contributed to the College’s extensive co-curricular activities. Amy was involved in the Gavel Club, DAV Debating and an enthusiastic member of the Writing Factory. She also participated in a number of social justice initiatives and an active member of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Jacinta was a member of numerous choirs, orchestras and ensembles, and a featured cast member of Genazzano and Xavier College’s combined musicals. Her contribution to co-curricular life at the College saw her receive a Gold Laurel Award in 2014 while in Year 10.
Furthermore, both Amy and Jacinta held key leadership positions in the College. Amy was a Mission Representative and Douglas House Captain, and Jacinta was Music Prefect.
College Principal, Ms Karen Jebb expressed her delight in the outstanding results received by the Class of 2016.
