Success for sixth year in a row at Royal Melbourne Show!
25 September 2019
Genazzano FCJ College’s Creative Arts Department have, once again, received excellent results in the Royal Melbourne Show Art Competition.
As a College, Genazzano won the Janice Gray Memorial Trophy for Best School for the sixth year in a row! Individually, our students received 17 first places, 19 seconds and 13 thirds, with many Highly Commendeds across the competition.
To celebrate our success, some of the girls’ work will be on display in the Wardell Breezeway and at our Graduate Art Show, exhibiting in the Madeleine Centre for Music and the Performing Arts from Wednesday 23 October to Monday 28 October from 8.00am to 4.00pm daily.
In other Creative Arts news, congratulations to our Art and Technology Teacher Mrs Katrina Wheaton-Penniall for being presented with RASV ‘Speed the Plough’ Award by the Governor of Victoria at the RASV Opening Cocktail Function. Mrs Wheaton-Penniall has been a long time exhibitor at the Show and she has encouraged many students to exhibit their work, winning hundreds of awards over many years.
Congratulations to Mrs Wheaton-Penniall and all our wonderful students who exhibited their outstanding work this year!
