Senate Visit | Year 6 Canberra Trip 2018

During our recent trip to Canberra, the Year 6 students were privileged to visit the office of the President of the Senate to meet Senator Scott Ryan. This was a highlight of our trip and the students were able to see where our federal senators work, meet and make decisions as they lead our country. Senator Ryan gave us an overview of how the Senate works and some of the interesting things he has done as President. He then took us onto the floor of the Senate, which was an amazing experience. It is a magnificent and awe-inspiring space and we were able to hear about some of the fascinating workings of the Senate. While many schools visit Parliament House, few have the experience we did. We are very grateful to Senator Scott Ryan for his generosity and for taking the time to give us this unique experience.
