Genazzano’s New Sustainable Waste Initiative

We have an exciting sustainability initiative coming to Genazzano.

Next term, waste stations will be set up where students can dispose of different types of waste. At each waste station, there will be clearly labelled bins for general waste (red), recycling (yellow), paper (blue), and food organics (green). Correctly sorting waste into the correct bins will stop so much waste going to landfill.

Here’s why our Sustainability Representatives are excited for this sustainable initiative:

Pip

“I think this new initiative is something that we can all look forward to and will make real positives in our community. It is in small thoughtful actions like these that we can be stewards of creation and contribute to a better future for us all”.

Maddy

“I think that implementing the sorting bins is such a great initiative for this is one of the ways that our school community can help protect our environment and be sustainable through recycling some of our waste. I also think the extra pops of colour from the bins would really brighten our school”.

Vittoria

“I am very excited for this new movement! I think that it will lead to a more conscious and thoughtful community here at Gen, and it is a great movement here for sustainability”.

Keep an eye out for more updates, education, and tips on sorting waste.
