College celebrates win after 12 years!

At the recent annual Centenary Swim Meet, there was much excitement and cheering around the pool as Genazzano FCJ College were crowned swim champions for the first time in twelve years!

The girls from Genazzano put in a stunning display, swimming strongly throughout the day under the watchful eye of GenAquatic Head Coach, Mr Amon Soerink and Performance Mentor, Mr Matt Welsh.

Held at Genazzano on Friday 17 February, five schools came together to compete in all four swimming disciplines, individual medleys and relays, with the final standings as follows:

Genazzano FCJ College

255 points

Sacré Cœur

199

Siena College

186

Avila College

170

Our Lady of Sion College

116

In a tight fought race, congratulations to Megan Grimshaw (Year 11) for her win in the Genazzano Fastest 50m Championship, in a time of 30.32sec. This is the second time Megan has won this prestigious event, repeating her outstanding effort in 2016.

Well done girls, a great warm-up for our House Swimming Carnival!
