Do you have a dedicated Year 9 Program?

Yes, our Year 9 students participate in the GenEncounter Program. It’s a unique, compulsory initiative designed to foster personal growth, real-world skills, and meaningful connections. Participation in all five components in compulsory, enriching the core curriculum and equipping students with lifelong skills for future success.

  1. Encounter Days: Immersive, full-day experiences that inspire students to engage with God, themselves, others and the world.
  2. Connection: A program focuses on community engagement and active citizenship. Students build relationships with local residents, develop enterprise skills, and collaboratively create a business for a community market, with proceeds going back to the community.
  3. The EDGE: A dynamic program that challenges students to step outside of their comfort zones through various activities such as rock climbing and water safety. It fosters resilience, teamwork, leadership and confidence, with practical applications for everyday life.
  4. New Metrics: Genazzano is privileged to be part of the New Metrics research-practice partnership with The University of Melbourne. This is at the forefront of global work looking to find solutions for improved ways to teach, assess and report on the complex competencies that learners need to thrive throughout and beyond their schooling life.
  5. Year 9 Camp to Central Australia: (Uluru, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs) will take place in September and is a compulsory aspect of the Year 9 GenEncounter program.

What is the College policy on mobile phones?

At Genazzano, we are committed to preparing students for a tech-rich future while promoting healthy minds, bodies, and social connections. We encourage responsible use of technology, which is why, in 2025, we have implemented a mobile phone-free policy from 8.20am to 3.25pm. During school hours, students are required to store their phones in their lockers.

We understand that young people’s brains and impulse control are still developing, and as educators, we play a key role in moderating mobile phone use. If a phone is seen during school hours, it will be confiscated and can be collected from Student Services at the end of the day.

We have asked for the support of our parent community in this approach and encourage open discussions at home about setting healthy boundaries around device and social media use.

Why choose an all girls’ school?

With benefits such as academic advantages, equal opportunities and strong role models to look up to, a girls’ school is the ideal place for your daughter to thrive and excel. Learn more here.

Does Genazzano have a uniform shop onsite?

Yes. The Second Hand Uniform Shop is an initiative of the Genazzano Mothers’ Association (GMA), to provide a service for families wishing to sell, donate and/or buy Genazzano College uniform items. The GMA Second-hand Uniform Shop now has a permanent location at the College, located at 1 Moonbria Avenue (formerly the Convent). Opening Hours will be advertised regularly on our Social Media platforms and GenConnect.

How do families stay up to date with College news and events?

GenConnect is the main point of contact between the College and our families. All students and families have access to GenConnect which provides online access to all class and teaching materials. GenConnect also provides all students with extension work and extra resources to help support what is presented in class. Students can also view their timetable and receive automatic notifications about deadlines and review feedback online across multiple devices.
