ACRATH Benefit Concert
16 May 2016
The ACRATH Benefit Concert is happening again! The evening has been organised by some of our Year 12 students, and will involve student performances, a silent auction, and raffle items.
All funds raised go directly to ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans). Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing global crime with over 27 million people across the world enslaved. Living in such a safe and privileged country, it is a common thought that human trafficking does not exist in Australia; however our country is a common destination for victims being trafficked, particularly from South East Asia, Eastern Europe, and other places throughout the world. ACRATH work both domestically and internationally to aid the government in combating human trafficking and work directly with victims, largely being women and children, whose already marginalised status in many societies, leave them vulnerable to traffickers.
Genazzano FCJ College’s connection with ACRATH can help eliminate human trafficking, not only in Australia but also throughout the world; so that all people can live freely and determine the direction of their lives, without restraint.
