Genazzano FCJ College is situated within spacious grounds, incorporating attractive gardens, extensive learning and sporting facilities. The seven hectare site provides the opportunities for all year levels to enjoy the surrounds, according to their age and stage.

Location

The Genazzano FCJ College Kew campus is located at 301 Cotham Road, Kew, in the heart of the Eastern suburbs, only a few kilometres from the city. With the 109 tram operates 24/7 on Cotham Road from Port Melbourne to Box Hill, our College is well serviced by pyblic transport. You can contact the College on (03) 8862 1000. View a College map.

Facilities

Wardell Building

The original Wardell Building was built as the initial school building, convent and boarding facility. The heritage building has been maintatined in its historic stage and now accommodates:

  • reception
  • administration
  • the Principal’s office
  • the Chapel
  • the Wardell Theatre
  • student services
  • Creative Arts
  • Years 10-12 homerooms.

d’Houet Building

The d'Houet Building was built in 1999, and over four levels it incorporates:

  • extensive library and technology facilities
  • state-of-the-art science laboratories and preparation area
  • classrooms for Years 5-8, including tutorial rooms and conference facilities
  • the cafeteria
  • the Performance Psychology Centre
  • the Learning Enhancement area
  • a modern careers centre
  • a fully equipped gym and circuit room.

Grange Hill

The historic Grange Hill environment, home to our Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Prep to Year 4 students, contains light-filled contemporary learning spaces, to support our rich and varied curriculum, including:

  • state-of-the-art classrooms
  • a central library
  • communal piazzas
  • outdoor areas.
The facility was fully refurbished in 2012 to incorporate our new ELC, and presents a wonderful, creative space for our younger learners.

The Madeleine Centre for Music and the Performing Arts

The Madeleine Centre is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility providing exceptional performance and learning spaces for students and the community. The building was constructed in 2011 features include:

  • 450-seat auditorium
  • orchestra pit
  • 2 music classrooms
  • 13 instrumental tuition rooms
  • 2 foyer/exhibition spaces
  • catering facilities
  • control room (with space for student learning)
  • gallery, sculpture garden, oak tree and St Raphael’s courtyards
  • state-of-the-art optical-fibre theatrical, communication and automation network.

Physical Education Precinct

The Physical Education Precinct incorporates Centenary Hall, which houses a full gymnasium, assembly hall and a 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool.

Tennis Precinct

The Tennis Precinct includes seven new courts, four of which are dedicated to tennis. The courts match those of the Australian Open and this provides a great stepping stone for those who dream of playing in the big time!

Transport

Tram

The College is located on the 109 tram route, which connects with the 16 tram route to Malvern and beyond along Glenferrie Road, and with several others at Kew Junction.

The College is also within easy walking distance of the 72 tram route along Burke Road, which connects with other tram and train services at Camberwell and is also used by our boarders.

Train

Camberwell is the closest train station, and the Ventura bus company connects with train stations at Alphington and Clifton Hill. Ivanhoe station is nearby and also connects to a bus service.
